Jaxon: The Boy Who Wasn’t Supposed to Live

We’re not Pollyannas, and we settle for our son’s situation. We’re realists who select to be optimistic.

We all know that Jaxon will at all times be completely different from different kids and that he could dwell a considerably shortened life. However we refuse to dwell on darkish ideas, and we actively search for the great issues. He’s alive! That’s a miracle in itself. He can hear! That defied the mind scans and the medical doctors’ predictions. He can see! We’re undecided how properly, however on the very least, he seems at us and smiles. He can coo and take steps and giggle! He has persona and a humorousness. And he can love … oh, how he loves.

Now we have realized that each day we’ve got a selection: We are able to get away from bed with a constructive outlook or a destructive one. We are able to rejoice over our child or fret over him. We are able to give attention to the compassion and help we obtain from the net group, or we will fixate on those that refuse to worth Jaxon as the valuable soul he’s.

Now we have determined to be constructive. Now we have determined to smile, to welcome questions, and to let the world share our pleasure in Jaxon’s victories over his many challenges. We aren’t looking for fame (although we do hope Jaxon’s story spreads to everybody who wants an instance of hope and braveness). We don’t care if individuals know our faces or names, however we do care about giving a smile, a dose of encouragement, and most of all, hope.
